Meet your hosts
Stephen and faith are living a twenty year dream on the granite belt. we both are passionate about food and hospitality is our business. we welcome you to our gorgeous part of the world and Grovely house bed and breakfast.
Stephen has been a qualified chef for over 37 years, nurturing this passion over the years, blending his classical training and his philosophy for honest fresh and humble cuisine. He enjoys meeting up with the local farmers and having a chat about their produce, finding out what is in season and then designs the breakfast menu to suit.
It has been Faith's dream for 20 years to own a bed and breakfast; that dream has now become a reality. She has had 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, including front of house, kitchen, bar and hotel management under her belt. Faith has her Nana to thank for her desire to cook. She remembers as a little girl, helping Nana to bake beautiful cakes and biscuits. Chopping the fruit for her preserves and jams, all the while learning Nana's secrets along the way. Faith's Nana inspired many a culinary delight, with an emphasis on simplicity, flavour and fun. As the Granite Belt is well known for amazing produce Faith is often in the kitchen making jams and chutneys for you to enjoy at breakfast. Hence Quackers Pantry small batch preserves became to fruition in January 2019.

The desire for quality food and excellent service became a reality when they purchased La Pizzaiola Restaurant, Toowoomba in 1999. They ran this award-winning restaurant for 6 and a half years, cooking, creating and celebrating food with many regular patrons. Stephen also trains apprentice chefs in the art of cookery, his passion for this trade certainly shows in his training and the food they create.
Grovely house has 2 four legged mascots
Sparky is my name and getting into trouble is my game. I am a short haired Jack Russell and will welcome you to my home, tail wagging. My friendly face lights up as I love visitors, I used to do agility but now my job greeting guests with the possibility of sneaking a treat. I also love to have a snuggle by the fire in the winter time.
Diamond is my name and I am very shy. I am Terrier cross, not sure with what, but I love chasing balls. I will greet you at the front door and after a while will enjoy having a pat. By the way I am the boss of Sparky no matter what he says.
Our Gardens
Stroll through the meandering paths laden with cold climate flora, happen across a cosy nook for some quiet time together. Read a book from our extensive library in a quiet corner, play bocce on the lawn or enjoy your welcome coffee and homemade delights sitting under the wisteria in the spring. Our cottage garden is a delight, meet up with Granville, our scarecrow or just sit and watch the grey kangaroos nibbling on the lawn. Every season at Grovely House brings its own individual beauty. The changing colours of autumn, the fruits of summer, beautiful spring bulbs and the possibility of snow in the winter. The charming verandas give Grovely House a tranquil feel you will not want to leave.......
